On the Ang Thong Tour with Blue Stars Kayaking from Koh Samui we take you to the Marine National Park Mu Koh Angthong.
Northwest Koh Samui has around 42 islets and islands scattered across the sea just waiting to be explored. Imagine the perfect landscape with dozens of deserted beaches, bizarre rock formations and calm blue waters.
The day starts early but is relaxed throughout. An air-conditioned minibus will pick you up from your hotel and take you to Nathon Pier. Here you will be met by our guides and the team who will welcome you on board our fully equipped excursion boat. On departure, enjoy a light breakfast and your guide will provide a briefing on the day’s activities and familiarize you with the boat’s features.
Blue Stars has a fleet of the world’s most popular recreational sit-on-top kayak, the Malibu II manufactured by Ocean Kayak. Easy to use and extremely stable, each kayak accommodates two adults or two adults and one small child.
The first place to visit is in the remote north of the park at Koh Tai Plao. This area is the best place for kayaking with some amazing rock overhangs, tunnels, small caves and a hidden lagoon to explore. And we’re usually the only supplier that goes to this place, so it’s extremely uncrowded. Each kayak comes with a dry bag so you can take your camera with you to get great shots. Our guides are also happy to help you take some nice photos of you kayaking. After experiencing the stunning beauty of this place up close by kayak, you’ll have the opportunity to take a dip in the inviting calm waters. Snorkel, swim or jump off the boat.
Time for a great lunch on board as you cruise through the park and make your way to the second stop at Koh Mae Ko, the island with a relatively short but fairly steep climb to a viewing platform from which you’ll witness the breathtaking sights of Emerald Lake will.
The final stop is the main island of Koh Wua Talap, where you will have the opportunity to participate in one of several activities. Explore this area by kayak and circumnavigate the small neighboring island. Then come back and relax on the beach. The second option, if you’re up for it and have a moderate to high level of fitness, you can make the climb to the lookout where you’ll be rewarded with stunning views of the entire park. A definite photo opportunity here! Another option you can choose is to hike to the stunning Bua Bok Cave with its monumental stalagmites and stalactites. For those who prefer to just relax, the pristine beach here is a great place to soak up some sun or find shade under one of the many palm trees.
It’s time to return to Koh Samui, the team will have fresh fruit and a snack ready for you while you relax for the journey home. Settle into a bean bag chair, seek out some shade, or strike up a conversation with a new friend about the amazing day you just had.
